Based on a suggestion from Luna, I watched these shows on A & E and enjoyed them both.  Family Plots is simply Six Feet Under without the sex and Airline is filled with some of the most impatient, crazy, shouting, short-fused people I've ever met other than me.  That said, these flyers had every right to be cranky...the episode I watched had Southwest Airlines overbooking a flight by over FIFTY PEOPLE, many who had had their reservations confirmed for months and would miss a cruise if they didn't arrive at their destination on time.  Good grief!  One of the Southwest employees was unhumanly patient and kind to the aggressive would-be passengers who looked at any moment like they would climb over the counter and pummel her to death with their bare fists.

The family running the funeral home on Family Plots is quite colorful and entertaining too and almost makes me want to work in that business except for the fact that I'm afraid of dead people, embalming is creepy and attending funerals day after day would make me want to blow my brains out, but still.

Good shows, Luna...thanks for the suggestion!

How interesting that you said that.  My hubby had a step uncle that was an undertaker for years and did try to blow his brains out, but he missed.  He is now sitting in a nursing home with half his brain gone and gets upset if he doesnt get to read the obits every morning.

You know, if your husband's step-uncle wasn't a real person I swear I'd have to laugh at this.  Yes it is terribly tragic.  But he...missed?  Wow.  And still wants to read the obits.  With half a brain.  I'm sorry...I am so conflicted about this.  This is at once a terrible terrible story but it's also just like something that would be recreated on Six Feet Under.

I'm enjoying a vacation day today and am fixing to take off to the outlets in Foley for a day of shopping with my best friend.  We'll probably stop at the Gift Horse to eat...in my opinion once of the finest eateries in Baldwin County.

Hate it for everyone who's working on this beautiful day, but woohoo for me!

Have fun at the mall.

BTW I dont really like the Gift Horse but I think it has to do more with some of the people that work/worked there and the few times I went I have bad experiences.  From what I can remember the food was good.  Just didnt like some of the employees and most of the stuck up Foley Snobs that seem to frequent that place at lunch time.

I would much rather go to catus cafe and get one of Steves fab margaritas!  I swear he makes the best I have ever had and as soon as I walk in the door he has a glass of water with lemon for me and is asking if I want a margarita.  Great service and great food.  Try it the next time you are in Foley.

No problem! Glad you enjoyed them. I actually started watching Airline shortly before my first flight (the trip to D.C.). When I saw passengers being bumped, I panicked. I just **KNEW** that was going to happen to me! :)  It didn't... but I still love watching the show.

Family Plots is just hilarious. I love that show. I missed it the other night though. :(  Didn't get home from work until after 1am. I think they re-run it this weekend.
