I just heard a rumor that Irish, our forum friend from Australia, will be visiting Baldwin County for a short stay.  I'm e-mailing her to get the details.  Hay! why don't we throw her a surprise party?  We could all dress up like kangaroos (with my boney legs, maybe I can come as an ostrich) and jump out from the bushes and surprise her.

That is great Sudz!  I know that you will be happy to see her.

Count me in!  I think it would be outstanding if we could all meet while she's here...maybe for dinner one evening.  How cool would that be, to finally place a face with a screen name!?  More details as you get'm!

Okay.  She's arriving on the sixth of June, but she needs a week with her immediate family then she'll be here another week after that.  The twelth of June is a Saturday.  That's a good day to throw a get together for her.  Whaddaya think?

How about a shindig on or near Fairhope Pier?  I'll bring a spear gun.  Viper, you bring the beer.  Frolix, you do the table dances.  Sunndew, you... wait a minute.  I shouldn't give the orders.  You guys come up with the plan.

Irish grew up in Stapleton, the second child in a family of five children.  She was/is the witty, cheerful bright eyed blond with a gift for turning a phrase in the ilk of Alan Alda in M.A.S.H., but with the sexiness of Hotlips.  She has enough Irish in her to flare up when threatened but with enough Cherokee to make her easy on the eyes.  She loves adventure and you should not dare her to do something unless you really want to see her do it.

I need some help.  Irish needs a place she can rent for the two weeks that isn't too expensive but will allow her to cook in and have her grown children overnight with her during that first week.  Can anybody help?  The Condos at the Gulf are too expensive.  She also needs to know who to see about activating her cell phone for use in the States so she can buy some minutes and use it while here.  I don't know enough about cell phones to effectively shop for her.  Help!

June 12th is one of my granddaughter's birthdays but her party is at 10:00 a.m. so shouldn't be a conflict with anything for afternoon or evening.  If you're serious Sudz, about a get-together, I'd love to and will hold that day open just in case.  Table Dance?  WTH?!?!

I thought Irish had red hair.

I had told her that the new Microtel Inn in Daphne has suites with kitchens - minus stoves (microwave only) and is only fifty bucks/day.  (I swear, how did we ever get to the place where I can honestly say the phrase “ONLY fifty bucks/day”?)  Would she want to stay at Dauphin Island?  I know a place there that has two-bedroom suites with full kitchens, on the water, and is very reasonable.

As far as the cell phone, I'm just guessing here but surely if she takes it to any phone place they'll be able to do whatever's necessary to activate it for short-term use.  That should be an easy fix.

Let me know if I can do anything and keep me posted about a get-together.
