I would like to know why our  probate judge does not have a “back up” in his absence? Shouldn't this be something, we as a community have the right to vote on?  When the judge is out of town there is no judge, period.

Anyone want to pitch and find out how to bring this to the polls?

Hmm... sounds to me like there's an interesting story behind that.  What's up?

I didn't realize that was the situation.  To coattail on your concern, what happens if the Probate Judge dies suddenly.  It would seem to me that if a plan is in place (interum appointee, for example) then the same plan would work when the Judge is out of town for more than a few days.  I will look into that.  A first cousin of mine works in the Bay Minette Court House.  I'll ask her.  In fact, I think it is the Probate Court section where she works.
