Again, no appropriate forum for this.  (Note to anomaly:  Please make a new forum called “Everything Else” or something like that.  Thank you.)

For awhile, a friend of mine here at work has suffered from an itchy rash on her belly.  She finally went to a dermatologist who called it some kind of fungus infection and gave her a bottle of pills to take to clear it right up.

So curious were the instructions for use she brought them in for me to read.  Honestly, if I hadn't seen them with my own eyes I'd've thought this was some kind of joke the doctor was playing on her.

Nizoral

Take one pill each day with a can of Diet Coke.  (Do not use regular Coke or any other soft drink.)  Take the pill and Coke on an empty stomach.    Wait twenty minutes.  Then go into a warm room and engage in vigorous activity to bring about a heavy sweat.  As soon as sweat has covered your body, go into a cool room and let the perspiration dry naturally.  Do not dry off with a towel.  Do not shower for four to six hours.  Repeat daily until prescription is gone.

No lie.  Is that not the weirdest drug instructions you've ever heard?

It's a little strange. I can't imagine what the Diet Coke does... unless the nutrasweet or whatever artificial sweetener is in it makes something "activate" in the meds. The sweating I guess is how the medicine is delivered from beneath the skin out... to clean out the fungus?

A little odd... has it worked?

Not enough time to tell yet, but I'll keep you posted!  I'll tell you one thing, if I followed those stupid instructions for a month and it DIDN'T work, I'd be pissed.

Yeah... that's a little too involved to have it not work and be unconcerned. Luna
