...for some reason reminded me of this joke:

While suturing a laceration on the hand of an 80-year-old Texas rancher (whose hand had caught in a gate while working cattle), a doctor and the old man were talking about George W. Bush being the White House. The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Bush is a 'post turtle'." Not knowing what the old man meant, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.

The old man said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle."

The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he can't get anything done while he's up there, but you just want to help the poor dumb b**tard get down.

That's a good one frolix. You know, GWB isn't the first president to be spoofed on comedy shows like SNL or MadTV, but man somehow most of their skit's feel more real than spoof.

Now before I get bashed as being anti-Bush... let me say this. I DID NOT vote for him in the last election, I voted for Gore... BUT after the unfortunate events of Sept. 11, I was thankful GWB was our president. For me, he was a much stronger leader to have in a such a time of crisis and I couldn't imagine AG doing the same.

But the more I watch GWB, the things he says, etc... I can't help but wonder if the spoofs are more truth than fiction. :)

Truthfully, I am not anti-Bush either...although I do think the poor man's in over his head.  I voted for him, I've supported him...but recent events have led me to believe he's unable to do what I feel is necessary to wrap things up.  Plus of course that whole gay marriage/amend the constitution thing drove me right over the edge.

Not that I think Kerry will do any better.  This just might be the very first election EVER that I simply don't vote.  (Thanks to advice from my much-missed pal ShinKen.)

Oh don't get me started on that whole thing....

I really liked Ret. Gen. Wesley Clark and am sorry he dropped out of the race. I will definitely vote in the election... and every election... that's thanks to my high school Government teacher, Mr. Willmann.

Me too, Luna.  You can't just not vote, Frolix.  Even if you choose the lesser of two evils, ya gotta exhorsize your right er left, depending on which is a demon to you.

I thought GWB did a good job of not answering questions last night.  Few men can avoid questions and provide half answers like a good politician.  I remember JFK and Nixon were both good at that too.  Of course I remember Ab Lincoln too. LOL:eek:
