R and I were enjoying Mexican last night when he told me that he thought we needed a secret double-high-five to use...you know, when needed. Evidently he had become bored with the traditional high-five that everyone uses and had actually been working on one for us. That in itself was pretty funny to me, imagining somebody designing an intricate high-five using both their own hands.
So anyway, he showed me what he had so far, which was a top-fist, bottom-fist, backhand slide, bottom palm-slap, segue to top palm-slap, then vertical palm-slide with finger-tickle, and the finish is a knuckle-tap. It works really good...I was impressed. Actually, I'm the one that came up the knuckle-tap at the end...to me the finger-tickle was an unsatisfying finish.
We practiced several times at the table until it came easily and we'll need a little more work before it's flawless.
We didn't notice that the group of people at the table across from us had evidently been watching us for some time, which was kind of embarrassing except for the fact that they obviously were enjoying it because at one point one of the guys said something like "What about doing the hitchhike-thumb over the shoulder at the end?" We did try that a couple of times but that seemed excessive and just a little silly.
It was lots of fun and I can't wait to use it spontaneously.
