Great news, Luna! Congratulations! I hope she's a pretty as her mom. I've decided the very best age is when a child is between 1 year old and 5 years old. Every little incident is a learning experience and their little faces just light up when they make a discovery. You can almost read their minds: “Wow! I took my shoe off all by myself!” “Gosh, the cat will eat it right out of my hand!” “Look! Gran day day will take a bite of the candy I offered him even after I ate off it, dropped it twice and...”
When I come home from work my granddaughter Caitlin comes running to greet me as if nobody has paid her any attention all day. Makes me feel so welcome, that is until I pick her up for a hug and she says, “Now can I pway Barney on da puter? Pwease Pwease Pwease?” At 3 1/2 years old, she can (once I get the computer on line and access Barney.com) surf through a dozen or more games and childrens' activities, color characters by clicking the brush from color to color and apply it to the pants, shirt, face, shoes, etc. She's learned words like “back” “next” and “Let's play” from just sitting there clicking this and that. I've left her for up to an hour and she never got off the one web site I put her on.
Then they really shock you by using words you didn't think they had learned and use them correctly. The other day I asked Caitlin if she wanted to take her bath. She said “Actually, I already did.” I didn't know she knew the word actually, let alone how to use it in a sentence. I don't suppose you can tell yet that she's got me where she wants me.
