I've only read part of an Anne Rice book... anyone care to guess which one? (duh) I need to go renew my library card (do they get inactivated after years of non-use?)...

Maybe I'll do that next week and start back on my summer reading kicks like I had when I was growing up. My mom would take me to the library every 2 weeks and I'd check out a ton of books to read. She'd always get on me, that I would never finish them in time... but I always did... and always pushed to check out more.

I just recently finished this book and it was really good.  http://http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0375826688.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Christopher Paolini began Eragon when he was just 15 and I am amazed at the quality of work.  This is defently and up and comming author in the Fanasty Genre.

The image wouldn't pop up for me, but I'm guessing it's the book cover for Eragon, since you talk about Paolini below the link. I've wanted that book since the day it came out, but I've been trying to focus on more job-related reading. Maybe I'll kick off my summer reading spree with that one! Thanks for reminding me about it Sunndew! :)

Luna: "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" ... Not that I've read that one... "Lifeform" is a book with a similar to the one you're reading now Rando. Alan Dean Foster is the author of that one... I'd love to hear your thoughts on "Frolix 8" when you're done. I'm always looking for a good read... whether it's sci-fi, mystery... etc Luna

You know, I swear I wrote a bunch of stuff after that quote... oh well.  Anyway, to recap... yes, I was referring to “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”, it's a great read.  As far as favorite authors, my favorite is Kurt Vonnegut (he's so damned irreverent).  My favorite book of all time is Don Quixote by Miguel Cervantes de Saavedra, which actually reads like a modern book which is surprising considering it was first published 400 years ago.

I used to read all the time, but I got out of the habit for some reason.  I've started reading heavily again within the last couple of months, going thru my bookshelves for any books I haven't read yet.
