I've noticed while watching WKRG News fot the last month or so they make a special note out of surveys where some survey company calls and polls viewers.    To me, that's telemarketing.    That is what the internet is for.  If you want to hold a survey, put it on the website and those who want to participate will come to the site and vote.   Cold calling people for surveys...  from a news station...........  whaddya think?

I don't want to be cold-called by phone for ANYTHING.  Ever.  And fortunately since I no longer have a home phone and use my cell phone exclusively, I'm not.

It's interesting that you've posted this right after I've complained about their forum being discontinued.  They evidently have the resources to spend on people who phone you at home for information, comments or opinions but not enough resources to maintain a message board forum for that very same reason.

Honestly, if Survivor weren't on WKRG I swear I'd stop watching.

Gasp! Frolix... hush your mouth! ;)

I haven't figured or found out why MG stopped the forums. Might be a good question for the news director or the webmaster.

As for the surveys, well... that's another MG thing, not WKRG thing. They're supposed to provide a more scientific answer versus web polls. If you get called, you can request to be removed from the call list, as with anything, and your request will be honored.

Switching your home phone to only use the cell phone.  That a stellar idea Frolix.

I am rather clever sometimes.  ;)  Really though, it does have benefits.  I got rid of my home phone almost three years ago and haven't missed it at all.  With my computer on Mediacom, there's not a reason in the world to have a home phone (for me).  I guess if you had several people in your home it might be different, but with only me, it's perfect.  No telemarketers, save $$$...it's win/win I tell you.
